Angelo Francis Mastronardi Jr., Freeville, NY passed away on December 13, 2020 at the age of 77. He was born on October 29, 1943 to the late Angelo and Thelma Williams Mastronardi. He graduated from Whitney Point High School in 1962 and joined the Marine Corps shortly thereafter. In October of 1966, Angelo left the Marines and met the love of his life, Connie Stewart Mastronardi. They were married in May of 1967 after a whirlwind courtship. They subsequently moved to Freeville, NY and have lived there ever since.
Angelo served honorably in the United States Marine Corps through the Vietnam War. Thereafter, he enjoyed a commendable 30 years with New York State Police. After 9/11 he was called back to duty in the State Police and served another two years and retired.
He worked tirelessly to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Angelo was honored to have served on the boards of directors at the J.M. Murray Center and Franziska Racker Centers.
He is predeceased by his parents Angelo and Thelma Mastronardi and his sisters Kathleen Krupitza, Diane Driscoll and Lorraine Podrazil. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 53 years, Connie; two daughters and son-in-law; Tracey Mastronardi and Jill and Jeremey Knout; two grand-daughters; Madison Knout and Hannah Knout.
Keeping with Angelo’s wishes calling hours will be from 3-5 pm on Wednesday, December 16th at Perkins Funeral Home at 55 West Main Street, Dryden, NY. Masks must be worn and social distancing standards. A memorial Service will be conducted at the end of calling hours at 5pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at Willow Glen Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
