Forrest A. Stinson

Forrest "Bub" Stinson, Age 72 of Groton, NY passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side, after a battle with bladder cancer. 

He was born May 20th, 1950 in Corning, NY to Alex and Addie Stinson. 

Forrest met his wife Nena in 7th grade in Ithaca, NY. They then married in 1970 and had 3 children. They moved to Lansing, NY where they spent many years before relocating to Groton. 

If you ever heard him tell you a story you'd know he was a rebel. He definitely loved a good party, and everything to do with motorcycles and cars. He was a man of many hobbies ranging from gardening to tattooing. Always wanted to try the newest technology and needed to have the biggest T.V. 

Most importantly was his love for his family. Granted, he'd be the first to tell you something you didn't want to hear but he would also be the first to run when you needed someone. Their door was always open and he spent many of his years being everything for everyone close to him. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. 

Forrest is predeceased by his Father Alex Stinson Sr., Mother Addie DeLong, Step-father Donald DeLong, and his beloved dog Max. 

He is survived by his middle school sweetheart and wife of 53 years Nena Stinson. Oldest son, William (Phaedra)and their children, Jennifer, Jessica, Cody. His only daughter Samantha (Arthur) and their children, Katarina, Joshua, Addie. Youngest son, Alex (Misty) and his children, Forrest II, Alex, Preston, Nevaeh. 6 great grandchildren.

His siblings, Velma, Cathy (Rick), Donnie (Janice), Tina (Wayne), Louis (Anne). Along with several nieces and nephews.

Forrest’s family will receive friends on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main Street, Dryden, NY.
