Obituary
Gaynor Irene Russell, 89 of Groton, NY passed away Monday, August 14, 2023 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
Born April 7, 1934 in Berkshire, NY she was the daughter of the late Claude and Pauline Pollard Partridge. On June 13, 1953 she married Richard Russell Sr. in Berkshire. She was employed by Cornell University prior to her retirement in 1984. She volunteered for several organizations including the Harford Fire Department Auxiliary and was an election clerk for many years. She loved draft horses, reading and playing solitaire.
Gaynor is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Richard Neil Russell Sr; her children, Richard Russell Jr. (Penny), Robin Sweet, Michael Russell and Mark Russell; daughter in law, Melinda Russell; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Rodney Russell; son in law, Ronald Sweet and her siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Dryden Veteran’s Memorial Home, 2272 Dryden Rd., Dryden, NY starting at Noon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dryden Veteran’s Memorial Home or Harford Fire Department Auxiliary. Online condolences at www.perkinsfh.com
