Grace Eversdyke Obituary

Grace Louise Keeler Eversdyke of Dryden, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at home. She was born to Florence Ida MacGillivray Keeler and Fritz Willis Keeler in Harford, NY on January 5, 1925.

Grace spent her grade school years in the former schoolhouse in Harford. She graduated from High School at Marathon Central as an honor student. Grace married Harry Eversdyke. Together they had two sons, Clare Eugene (Lori) of Aurora, NY and Marvin Willis (Sharon) of Milford, PA who survive. She was proud of her grandchildren, Michael (Heather) of CT, Melissa of FL, Derek and Sarah Grace of PA; Grace was especially proud of her great grandchildren, Colin (Jamie) and Margot of CT, Sadie Grace, Marin Renee, Rowan and Eden of PA; and special nephew, Earl Wainwright Jr. (Jodi). She is also survived by many friends especially Virginia Baker of Dryden and very close friends and caretakers, David H. Edwards Jr and Kevin Becker of Cortland, who called her Gramma Grace.

Grace had many interests over the years. She had been a Rebekah since 1945, was a Past Noble Grand and served twice as District Deputy of Tompkins and Cortland Counties for her Lodge. Grace has been active in Creamery Hills Senior Center since 1987, helping with many projects and holding several offices. She was a member of Harmony Methodist Church in Harford. She attended Asbury Church and was a member of Dryden Senior Citizens. Grace was an original member of the Harford Fire Company Auxiliary and was very active in earlier days. She helped organize and faithfully worked on projects to renovate the Harford Town Hall. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Dryden. Grace was active in the annual reunions of the former schools of Harford Township. One of her most enjoyable times was playing pinochle with friends in Marathon. She loved quilting and crocheting and was always ready to help anyone. Grace read many books, especially Amish. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper and was retired from Dryden Family Medicine. Grace was predeceased by her husband in 1987, her father in 1955, her mother in 1981, her sister Myra Wainwright in 2010, a special aunt Mae Allen in 1970 and close friend Glen Lasby in 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Pastor Penny Sutterby officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
