Grant Gleason Obituary

Family, friends, and neighbors mourn the passing of Grant "Bo" Gleason. He passed peacefully surrounded by family at St. Joseph's   Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

Grant was born September 19, 1942 in Cortland County, New York. He spent his entire life living within the county. Those who knew him well would describe him as a very simple man with simple beliefs and values, and a tireless work ethic. He was a kind and giving man who never hesitated to help family or friends in need. Grant was a Jack-of-all-trades. There wasn't anything he could not do. He has owned a logging company, trucking company and wood company.  He was a heavy equipment operator, and could fix anything on four wheels. His passion for the outdoors was tremendous, and he could always be found in a woodpile. His commitment to family and friends was undying.  He will be missed greatly, and will remain in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him forever.

Grant is survived by his loving, supportive, and feisty wife Frances of 64 years. He is also survived by his eight children;  Suzzan (Darrell) Cottom of Scott, NY, Grant Jr. (Lisa) Gleason of Society Hill, SC, Judy (James) Marshall of Conway, SC, Rose (Keith) Hollenbeck of Asheboro, NC, Peggy Hicks (John Marsh) Dryden, NY, Lorrie (Dan) Chase Lisle, NY, Louanne (Anthony) Grainger Myrtle Beach, SC, Lois (James) Popelka Endicott, NY, thirty-five grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brothers;  Otis, Frank (Dickie), Charles (Bill), sisters;  Carol, Mary, many nieces and nephews.
