Shirley Glazier Obituary

Shirley Jean (Holcomb) Glazier, 91, of McGraw, NY passed away March 2, 2024. She was born to the late Lawrence and Louise (Lawrence) Holcomb, October 20, 1932, in Blodgett Mills, NY. She was raised on her parents dairy farm and often reminisced of her long treks to bring the cows in from pasture, and growing up in Blodgett Mills. She married the late Robert Glazier in 1951. They began their life together in Mt. Home, Idaho where Robert was stationed with the United States Air Force. She had fond memories of that time together and the friendships that were formed there. After returning to, and settling in New York, Shirley and Robert were blessed with seven children. Shirley’s greatest joy came from raising their children and being a homemaker. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind many beautiful memories. She loved, and is loved dearly, and will be greatly missed by all.

Shirley is survived by six of their children; Stephen Glazier (at home), Julie (Albert) Widger of McGraw, Thomas (Karen) Glazier of McGraw, Bobbie Fox (Robert Marks) of Cortland, Jackie (Bill) Whitmore of Cortland, and Lorie (Darrell) Greenwood of Blodgett Mills. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a dear brother-in- law Larry Winfield of GA, dear sisters-in-law Marjorie Cotterill of FL and Beverly Glazier of FL, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her loving husband, Robert on March 3, 2002, son Jeffrey Glazier, sister Nancy Winfield and brother Lawrence Holcomb.

At Shirley’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Perkins Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared at
