Theresa Margaret Fredrica (Guarino) Albert

Theresa Margaret Fredrica Guarino Albert, 87, of Newfield Garden Apartments passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 surrounded by her family.

                Theresa was born on March 11, 1935 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and Marie Jeanette Guarino. Her husband of 39 years, Robert “Bob” George Albert, passed away in May 1998. She is also predeceased by her four siblings and her grandson, Brandon Albert.

                Theresa leaves her five children, Thomas & Brenda Albert, Helen (Albert) & Michael Beach, Marie Jeanette (Albert) & James Nowlin, Joseph & Laura Albert, and Theresa Albert & Julie Seely; her grandchildren, Heather Albert, Nicholas Albert, Justin Albert, Bernadette & Scott Roberts, Robert & Ashley Beach, Rebecca Beach & Chris Mott, Mickey Beach & Anaiah Boyer, Kaitlin Nowlin, Emilee & Kevin Wells, Tyler Albert, Danielle Albert, and Stephanie Albert; her great-grandchildren, Zayne and Zara Roberts and Gwendolyn Beach; several nieces and nephews; and many other friends and loved ones.

                Theresa and Bob raised their family in Brooklyn until 1972, when they relocated to Ithaca. Sixteen years later, she and Bob settled into their home on Elmira Road in Newfield, where they enjoyed hosting countless family gatherings. She worked at Evaporated Metal Films for 24 years and retired as their Head of Shipping in 1998. For a brief time, Theresa ventured across the country to live in Washington State for five years before returning home to Newfield. Throughout her life, Theresa was immensely dedicated to her Catholic faith and never missed an opportunity to tell someone about their patron saint or let them know she was saying a novena for them, making all who knew her feel loved.

There will be no visitation services. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Ithaca, NY on May 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a burial service at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations in Theresa’s name to the Newfield Public Library for large-print books, so that others may enjoy the delight of reading as she did.
